Wow! What a week!
HAHAHAHA!!! What a week.... more like what a few weeks. WOW!! I started this blog post a few weeks ago and never got it finished. I suppose that there is not time like the present to get it done!!
Winds of Change!! New Beginnings!!
At the end of April I applied for a job with Edmonton Catholic Schools. Mid May I had an interview, a week later I had accepted the job and we were planning a move to Edmonton. So much to do and so many emotions!
I am really excited about the career opportunity I have been given. I will have a great job, 10 months of the year. I get all school holidays (and a bonus of 2 days per month), I get paid benefits, a pensions, and a good salary. Talk about stability!! The same paycheck every month regardless!! I have never had that luxury.
The move I have mixed emotions about depending on the day. I think it is a great opportunity for my family. We will be moving to St Albert where I know people, I have friends and family. The cost of living is much more affordable, Alberta health care is free, there is no HST, summers are beautiful, what more could we want?!?! We could want the outdoor lifestyle that Victoria has to offer, or all of the friends that we have established here. The winters are mild, and the summers are usually nice. I can basically run outside 90% of the year. Even though I know people in St Albert/ Edmonton, we are still essentially starting over. I haven't lived in the area since 1996... 16 years is a long time. Its exciting and scary all at once.
Our condo is on the market next week, we are working out arrangements for a new mortgage, things are full steam ahead and there is no looking back. The next chapter of our life is about to start!!
So much to do, so much to do. Stay tuned for progress on our house hunting, and our adventures in moving. Not sure how much experimenting I will be doing in the kitchen, with possibly having to show the house, but I will post some old faithful recipes for you to test!!
